AHMEDABAD: It's double festive time for Gujaratis. Along with Diwali its also cricket time. India is already has upper hand against England at the end of third-day play of the first Test at Motera.

According to Matt Prior, playing in India is a challenge as the hosts know the conditions well, but the game no less than a religion here, makes the home team a lot stronger.

"I think you have to be out here to see what cricket means to the people, it is a religion and to play cricket in front of people who have this mentality, is a fantastic opportunity for any cricketer and if we can win in this kind of environment will be even better. The record speaks for itself, how long has it been since England have not won here?" Prior remarked. England hasn't won a Test series in India for the last 27 years.

The last English team that won a Test series in India was way back in 1984-85, with David Gower being at the helm of the visiting team's affairs.

Talking of Kevin Pietersen, Prior said the team doesn't want him to change too much. "Suppose suddenly he becomes a shy, introvert character, I will be more worried to be very honest. I want him to go out and express himself the way he does. I am glad he has come back. The important thing is this group pulling together in the right direction," he said.
