HYDERABAD: Pacer Ashish Reddy gave Hyderabad crucial breakthrough by getting rid of Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli after his steady 44-ball-46 and reduced visitors to 85/4 after 14 overs.

Scorecard

Reddy took a brilliant return catch to break the dangerous looking fourth wicket stand between Kohli and Moises Henriques.

Kohli slammed five boundaries and a terrific six during his stay and shared 43-run partnership with Henriques.

Earlier, Bangalore top order failed to put up a fight as the visitors were three down for 42 in seven overs after they elected to bat against Hyderabad in their IPL clash on Sunday.

Off spinner spinner Hanuma Vihari gave Hyderabad a dream start by sending back danger man Chris Gayle in the second over.

Gayle didn't live up to the expectation and got caught behind after scoring just one run.

Pacer Ishant Sharma capitalised on the early breakthrough provided by Vihari and bowled out Tillakaratne Dilshan (5) to reduce Bangalore to 22/2 in four overs.

Karun Nair (9) was the third man to fall after getting trapped leg before by leg-spinner Amit Mishra at the score of 42.
