IPL 6: RR take edge as KXIP crumble

JAIPUR: Kings XI Punjab were in tatters as they lost six wickets at the score of 75 after 13 overs to give Rajasthan Royals control in the IPL clash at the Sawai Mansingh stadium on Sunday.

Siddharth Trivedi, who earlier dismissed Gurkeerat Singh (10), struck again in the 13th over to scalp a well settled David Hussey after his 31-ball-41, giving Punjab sixth blow.

Earlier, Rajasthan pacer S Sreesanth dismissed both Punjab openers Adam Gilchrist and Mandeep Singh in the second over after Punjab were invited to bat.

Sreesanth got Gilchrist caught by Siddharth Trivedi for a duck and then sent back Mandeep Singh to reduce Punjab to 8/2 in two overs.

Manan Vohra soon joined Gilchrist and Mandeep in the dressing room after getting run out in the fourth over.

Siddharth Trivedi gave Punjab fourth blow at the score of 45 by getting Gurkeerat Singh (10) caught behind.

Rajagopal Satish (11) was the fifth man to fall after getting caught behind by man behind the stumps Sanju Samson off James Faulkner in the 12th over.

Rajasthan brought back Shane Watson, Sanju Samson and Ajit Chandila while Kings XI retain their XI from the previous game.

After starting their campaign with consecutive victories, Rahul Dravid's men fumbled against 'underdogs' Pune Warriors in their last match. Now, they will be eager to return to winning ways when they take on Kings XI Punjab.

With four points from three games, the Royals are ahead of Adam Gilchrist's team by just two points, and on Sunday it will be a test of character for both captains. While Dravid will be eager to get the house in order, Gilchrist will be looking to stun the Royals in their own den.
