Parvinder Awana gave Delhi Daredevils second blow by getting RE van der Merwe (8) caught by Mandeep Singh in the fourth over to reduce hosts to 22/2.
Earlier, Praveen Kumar got Delhi skipper Mahela Jayawardene caught by David Hussey in the first over after Kings XI Punjab elected to bowl in the IPL clash at Kotla.
Jayawardene was dismissed after scoring just a boundary.
Kings XI replaced Azhar Mahmood, Manpreet Gony and Gurkeerat Singh with Luke Pomersbach, Harmeet Singh and Bhargav Bhatt. Delhi, on the other hand, brought in Johan Botha, Ashish Nehra and Juneja.
Both teams are high on confidence after sensational victories in their respective matches.
Delhi, too long without a win, finally got going against Mumbai Indians and the Kings also pulled off a superb victory over Pune Warriors.
