Rahane, Yagnik put Rajasthan on top

NEW DELHI: Harbhajan Singh struck to give Mumbai Indians huge breakthrough as he broke the second wicket stand between Ajinkya Rahane and Dishant Yagnik in the 23rd match of the IPL 6 at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

Bowling change did the work for the visitors when Harbhajan was brought back into the attack and he dismissed Yagnik who was caught by Sachin Tendulkar at fine leg.

Ajinkya Rahane and Yagnik hammered flurry of boundaries to take Rajasthan Royals past 100 runs in just 11.2 overs.

Rahane and Yagnik kept the Royals free flow charge after Shane Watson's dismissal with their 33-ball fifty stand to leave the Mumbai bowlers clueless.

After a blistering start for Rajasthan, Mumbai finally got a breakthrough when Keiron Pollard struck to dismiss Watson at the score 62.

Watson (31), in his attempt to hit Pollard's outside off delivery, got a wicked outside edge that was taken comfortably by Mumbai wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik.

His innings was studded with 5 boundaries and a six and he put up 62 runs for the opening wicket along with Ajinkya Rahane.

Rahane and Watson began well and completed their 50-run partnership in just 33 balls by smashing boundaries at regular intervals after Royals skipper Rahul Dravid opted to bat.

Royals have made two changes, bringing in Ankeet Chavan in place of S Sreesanth and Dishant Yagnik replaced Sanju Samson.

Mumbai, on the other hand, fielded an unchanged squad from their last game.

Rewarded for their team effort and consistency so far in the tournament, it will be a test of character for Royals against Mumbai.

Dravid and his men will be playing in their own den and the conditions too would suit them, but the visitors' all-round strength makes them the favourites going into the match.
