Rain washes out Sunrisers-Heat match

NEW DELHI: Incessant rain played spoilsport as the Sunrisers Hyderabad-Brisbane Heat Champions League Twenty20 match was called off without a single ball being bowled at Sardar Patel Stadium in Ahmedabad on Monday.

Earlier, due to the arrival of rains at the fag end of the Titans innings, Trinidad and Tobago won by six runs after D/L method was used for the result in their match.

As a result of the washout, Sunrisers Hyderabad have been eliminated from the 2013 Champions League Twenty20.

On the other hand, as Brisbane Heat were already out of contention, no combination of results would have helped the Australian side make the semifinals.
