NEW DELHI: Opener Ajinkya Rahane slammed his third Champions League Twenty20 half-century on the trot to take the Rajasthan Royals past 100 runs in their semifinal match against Chennai Super Kings in Jaipur.

Rahane reached his fifty in 41 balls with the help of 4 boundaries, 2 sixes and a swift 59-run partnership with Shane Watson for the fourth wicket.

Rahane had earlier stabilised the Rajasthan Royals innings along with Sanju Samson by putting up a steady 33-run partnership after losing skipper Rahul Dravid and Kevon Cooper cheaply.

However, Jason Holder's short of length delivery was mistimed by Samson (11) and was taken comfortably by Ravichandran Ashwin at the midwicket position.

Earlier, Chris Morris got the better of Dravid's (5) stumps in the third over of the match just before Mohit Sharma brought an early end to Cooper's (14) innings.

Cooper hit 2 boundaries and a single six in his short cameo and was looking to do some serious damage; however, Sharma was successful in getting the right-hander caught by Subramaniam Badrinath.

The first semifinal of the Champions League Twenty20 started when Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni won the toss and decided to bowl against Rajasthan Royals.

Rajasthan Royals breezed into the last-four stage of the tournament with an unbeaten four-match streak while the Super Kings, the first team to have advanced to the semifinals, stumbled in their final group game against Trinidad & Tobago.

Former champions CSK are aware that their opponents have not lost a single game in this venue in the last Indian Premier League, and add the home side's performance in the ongoing tournament, the record surely wears an invincible look.
