Hockey WC Live: Aus lead India 4-0

THE HAGUE: India appear slightly better in the second half but they are yet to open an account fifth group stage match against Australia in the hockey World Cup on Monday.

Australia scored four quick goals in the first half to leave India reeling under pressure.

Australia's Kieran Govers made no mistake after Zalewski and Whtetton gave him way and scored the first goal easily in the third minute outnumbering Indian defence.

India went down 0-2 in the 16th minute when Chris Ciriello converted Australia's first penalty corner.

Jeremy Hayward did the same in the 20th minute to give Australia 3-0 lead.

In the 22nd minute Ciriello struck again to score the fourth goal.

The Indians bounced back well to beat Malaysia 3-2 after losing back-to-back matches to start.

They currently have four points from as many matches after drawing the game against Spain.

Australia have already made the semifinals with four thumping wins, while India are in the fourth place in Group A.
