NEW DELHI: IOA secretary general Rajeev Mehta and wrestling referee Virender Malik, who were arrested for alleged drunken driving and sexual assault in Glasgow, will be released after no charges found against them.

Earlier in the day, the Wrestling Federation of India suspended Malik with immediate effect.

In a bizarre development to the issue, UP Olympic Association general secretary Ananadeshwar Pandey said that Indian officials will not even be produced in court as the police found no evidence against them.

The duo was not staying with the official 215-strong contingent which is putting up at the Games village. Both of them were reportedly lodged at a local hotel.
