Dayal-Dhole pair wins Vidarbha-level doubles badminton title

NAGPUR: Experienced city shuttlers Ajay Dayal and Jayendra Dhole claimed the men's doubles title in the Warud Open Vidarbha-level badminton tournament.

The two-day tourney was organized by the Warud Badminton Association at the District Indoor Sports Complex, Warud.

In the final, the pair of Dayal and Dhole trounced Amravati duo Ritesh Anantwar and Taishim Khan 21-14, 21-15 to clinch the title.

In the men's singles, Dhole had to be satisfied with the runner-up spot. Nagpur district champion Dhole lost the final against Kunal Deshmukh. Amravati's Deshmukh won 21-19, 21-16.

In the U-19 boys singles, promising city shuttler Gaurav Mithe finished runner-up.
