Rohan Gurbani wins U-15 West Zone badminton crown

NAGPUR: Top seed Rohan Gurbani lived upto his reputation and billing to annex the U-15 boys singles title in the West Zone PNB MetLife Juniors Badminton tournament which concluded at the Goregaon Sports Club in Mumbai on Thursday.

Fourteen-year-old Rohan dispatched Aniruddh Sinh Kushwaha of Valsad in straight games 21-13, 21-15 in a one-sided final. Ealier in the morning, Rohan, a student of Centre Point School, Katol Road, overcame the challenge of fourth seed Rahul Kane 22-20, 21-12 to enter the final.

With this stupendous triumph, Rohan, who received a cash prize of Rs 15,000, will now compete in the inter-zonal national finals at New Delhi later this month.
